Anno Bunnik is a Trainer and Subject Matter Expert on Middle East politics, diplomacy and new security challenges. For Pax Ludens, he is mainly involved in training senior military officers at the Netherlands Defence College on the complexities of the Middle East conflict.

Anno is currently working as a Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Applied Research in Security Innovation (CASI) at Liverpool Hope University. In this position he has recently started his PhD-research on the management of European security networks dealing with violent extremism. In addition, Anno is a board member of ORRR, a non-profit organisation that seeks to nurture the successful reintegration of former violent extremists in society.

A graduate from King’s College London, Anno has previously worked in the think tank sector for the Beirut-based Carnegie Middle East Center and the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism in The Hague.

As a political commentator, Anno has spoken regularly to national and international radio stations on political developments in the Middle East. His articles have frequently been published by various media outlets such as Al Ahram, Al Jazeera and De Volkskrant.
