Benedikt van den Woldenberg is a Subject Matter Expert on the Middle East at PaxLudens. He is now a Researcher at the German Orient-Institute in Berlin. Before completing the Middle Eastern Studies Research Master at Leiden University (with distinction), he studied Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies in Erlangen, Damascus and Beirut. Benedikt has also been a visiting student at McGill University in 2013.
Benedikt’s main interests are the ‘monarchy debate’, with a particular focus on Jordan and Morocco, and the Syrian conflict and its regional reverberations.
